The Parkinson’s Disease Society charity is to benefit from a Christmas dash in Ramsey.

The event is being organised by Quay Fitness, a gym in the town owned by Andrew and Zoe Chestnut.

Zoe said: ’Here at Quay Fitness we are privileged to host regular exercise classes for individuals with Parkinson’s, recognising the importance of exercise in maintaining balance, mobility and activities of daily living, and we are pleased to be able to offer the proceeds of the Dash to this worthwhile, local charity.’

The dash is on Saturday, December 16, at 2pm, meeting at the town hall car park.

Entry forms are available from Quay Fitness, Unit 9, Gladstone Park. and must be in by December 8.

Participants can run, walk or skip the route which is just short of a mile and goes right through town.

Last year saw a real mix of ages and abilities getting together to participate and we had some fantastic costumes making their way through town.

Christmas fancy dress is compulsory and all ages and abilities are welcome. It costs £5 per adult and £2 per child to enter.

Zoe added: ’Once again we are grateful for the support of the Ramsey Town Commissioners and the Ramsey Chamber of Commerce and we are looking forward to what is sure to be a fun and festive family event.

’We will need lots of marshals and volunteers to run this event - please contact us on 813083 or [email protected])if you are able and willing to lend a hand on the day.’
