The switch on of the Christmas lights in Castletown in this Saturday, December 2,

The celebration kicks off at 2pm with music by Soundcheck (and again at 3.15pm), Victoria Road School choir at 2.30pm, there’s the Castletown Ale Drinkers’ Santa Dash at 3pm, Buchan School choir at 3.45pm and Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band at 4.15pm.

The Christmas lights switch on is at 5pm by Ella Doherty, Station Garage trials team champion and under 21 Isle of Man Young Sports Personality 2017. There are also fireworks.

From 5.15pm there’s more music by Soundcheck in Market Square and Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band in Barracks Square.

Father Christmas is in his grotto from 2pm to 5pm.

Other entertainment includes a free carousel in Barracks Square, music by Balley Cashtal Beg and a market at Castletown Fire Station plus craft stalls, food and drink in the square and civic centre until 6pm.
