Clare Bettison MHK is returning to the Department of Health and Social Care as a political member.
She resigned from the department last month, citing only ’internal’ reasons.
New Minister for Health and Social Care, David Ashford MHK, said: ‘I am delighted that Clare has agreed to my offer of a position within the department.
’I believe she will be a valuable asset to the team and I look forward to working with her to address the challenges that lie ahead.’
Douglas East MHK Miss Bettison said: ‘The DHSC is faced with a wide range of issues, and I am honoured that the Minister has asked me to bring my experience and knowledge back to the department as part of the political team charged with tackling them.’
She was the second political member to resign from the DHSC, Onchan MHK Rob Callister having stepped down from the role in March last year, citing personal reasons and a difference of opinion with the Minister Kate Beecroft.Miss Bettison’s career before being elected to the House of Keys was as a registered nurse.
