Musicians will help an ecological organisation celebrate their first birthday next weekend.

The Isle of Man Climate Coalition is holding a concert at the Manx Legion club, Market Hill, Douglas, on Friday, November 22, from 7.30pm.

Music will come from the swing, boogie and jive five-piece Loose Crew, Jazz, folk and Gaelic group Clash Vooar, who will be giving a debut airing to a new song, and rapper Han-FX.

Organiser Pete Christian said that the night is seen as a way to say thank you to the many groups who have joined in with the coalition, including a diverse range of parties such as Beach Buddies, Manx Birdlife and the Rushen Commissioners, and to mark their achievements over the past year.

’One year ago, representatives of eight groups launched the Isle of Man Climate Change Coalition,’ said Pete.

’This has now grown to over thirty affiliated groups, who are all concerned about how climate change is affecting the island and the whole world.

’The Coalition continues to focus on how the wider community and our Government can address the fight against climate change, and will be a prominent local voice on behalf of its thousands of members.

’The climate change coalition group extend a very warm invitation to anyone to come down and help us mark our anniversary.’

The evening is free to attend, with donations to the coalition welcome.
