The Met Office forecast for Thursday: ‘Today will be rather cloudy with some scattered showers, which will move through fairly quickly on the fresh south-westerly wind. Highest temperature around 16°C.

‘The odd shower will continue to affect the island this evening, before maybe merging into a longer spell of rain later in the night.

‘Minimum temperature near to 10°C with a fresh to strong south to southwest wind.’
