One Onchan family has been delivering the Courier for 13 years - and it’s a real family affair.
It takes Paul Clucas and his mum Margaret about an hour and a half to deliver 188 newspapers on their road, Turnberry Avenue, and nearby roads including Howstrake Heights, The Fairway and Groudle View.
Margaret’s husband David also helps out, driving some of the papers to the furthest point on the round.
Paul’s sister Vicki, aged 29, originally took on the round.
Margaret said: ’Paul is dedicated to do it. He likes to work and feel helpful. He doesn’t mind all weathers. He just puts his waterproofs on and it doesn’t matter.’
He likes to earn the money so it is his to spend how he chooses.
Paul, 32, has become well-known on his route and Margaret said many people were friendly and knew him to speak to, saying they asked after his involvement with the Special Olympics.
Paul is a keen member of the Special Olympics, particularly gymnastics.
He was part of the team that won silver in the 4x100m snowshoe race at the 2017 Winter Games in Austria.
