The Met Office forecast for Thursday: ‘Cloudy today with further spells of rain for much of the day, accompanied by fresh to strong northeast winds, the rain then clearing away around late afternoon or early evening.

‘Feeling cold, the maximum temperature 9 Celsius.

‘Tonight will be dry and clear, but still rather breezy, with tomorrow then a fine and dry day with plenty of sunshine and the winds will steadily ease.’
