Bogdan Ryzhuk, aged 29, of South Quay, Douglas, has appeared in court charged with common assault, common assault on a female, and provoking behaviour.
The offences are alleged to have been committed on July 8.
The case was adjourned until August 15 at the request of advocate James Peterson, who asked for time to find a Ukrainian interpreter.
Bail continues.
