Staff from PaySafe gave up a day to help the charity Beach Buddies in its continuing project to give the Isle of Man the cleanest beaches in Europe.

The company’s staff turned out at Castletown bay on a day when the weather was very unkind, with heavy showers of rain and temperatures not far above zero.

Despite the weather being particularly unpleasant, with heavy showers and temperatures not far above zero, Paysafe’s employees managed to collect 25 bags of waste, consisting of ropes, fishing gear and various other items. ’It certainly wasn’t the best weather conditions, but everyone tackled the job with a smile and we were amazed by how much we collected,’ said John Tottenham, director of merchant services at Paysafe.

Beach Buddies founder Bill Dale said: ’They were a great team. We normally postpone sessions in weather like that, but the Paysafe team was determined to soldier through it and they did a really great job! We are very grateful and it will be a big help in our efforts to keep the island’s beaches clean.’

Paysafe, which is registered in the Isle of Man and trades on London’s FTSE 250 Index, has been supporting Beach Buddies since October 2016.

Paysafe not only provides financial support for the provision of four large rubbish bins placed around the island, but staff will also often take part in beach cleaning days each year.
