A big bonnag bake-off held has boosted funds for the Crossroads charity’s Young Carers Project.

Quilter International employees at the company’s headquarters at King Edward Bay House in Onchan took part in a competition to see who was best at creating the Manx delicacy.

There wre bonnags ranging from traditional recipe, to those with a modern twist using ingredients such as cranberries, chocolate, and spices.

The judging panel featured two representatives from Crossroads - Megan Faragher and Hannah Murphy - and two from Quilter International - chief executive Peter Kenny and client services director Neil Campbell).

Lesley Shimmin was chosen as the winner with colleagues Dee West and Irene Gaydon filling the silver and bronze medal positions.

The event, which raised around £300, was part of Quilter International’s three-year fundraising campaign to support Crossroads’ Young Carers Project.
