The condition of the roadway and pavements in the middle of Parliament Street, Ramsey, was raised by town commissioner Julia Wedgwood at the latest monthly board meeting.

She told members that the speed bumps on the road were breaking up.

And she described the pavement edges of the town’s main shopping street as crumbling in some areas.

She said this was particularly the case where heavy delivery vehicles had mounted the kerb.

’People could take a tumble and break a leg,’ she warned.

’It really does need looking at.’

The commissioners agreed to raise their concern over the condition of Parliament Street with the Department of Infrastructure.
