A May Day fair held by the Friends of St James at the school rooms in Dalby has raised £1,400 for three charities.
The Collectibles and Country Fair was held in aid of the charities, Tabitha’s trust, The Pahar Trust Nepal and the Dalby Restoration Fund.
Tabitha’s Trust supports families through child bereavement. The Pahar Trust Nepal helps build schools in Napal.
The Dalby Restoration fund raises funds for the restoration of the school rooms.
A spokesman for the Friends of St James said: ’The weather treated us favorably this year which meant that we were able to have some of our stalls outside. The flags were flying and the sun shone well.
’The team greeted over 200 people and fed most of them with a selection of homemade cakes, soups and sandwiches, not counting the endless cups of tea and coffee.
’Many visitors took advantage to view the stalls both upstairs in the church and downstairs in the basement, in the new styled Dalby Hub. This was the first time that this renovation project had been open for viewing, still a work in progress but one that we could see the improvements and the potential.’
