A 30-year-old Douglas man has admitted having cannabis sent to him in the post.
Daniel James Glassey was arrested after a package containing £450-worth of the drug was intercepted at the Post Office sorting office.
He also admitted possessing cocaine and will be sentenced on April 19 after a probation report has been completed.
The parcel was addressed to Glassey at his Palace View Terrace home and when opened was found to contain around 15 grams of cannabis.
Police went to Glassey’s home and a search of the property found a further 0.5 grams of cannabis, a joint, and 0.1 of a gram of cocaine.
During an interview at police headquarters Glassey gave ‘no comment’ responses to questions.
Ms Carroon submitted that the case was suitable for summary court sentencing.
The court heard that Glassey has previously served a custodial sentence for drug related matters.
Defence advocate Peter Taylor asked for a probation report to be prepared before sentencing and agreed that the case should remain in summary court.
Mr Taylor said that his client had said that he had no idea where the cocaine had come from, but had taken a pragmatic approach, and accepted it was in his property.
Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks accepted summary court jurisdiction.
Bail continues in the sum of £500 with conditions to live at his home address and contact probation services.
Since the pandemic began, scores of people have appeared in court after cannabis addressed to them was intercepted at the sorting office.
