A 30-year-old biker who had no insurance and an expired licence has been fined £850.

James Liam Forster, of Fairy Hill, Port Erin, also had his licence endorsed with five points.

The court heard that the defendant was riding a Honda PCX125 motorbike on August 20, at Bay View Road in Port Erin.

He was stopped by police, who found that his provisional licence had expired on January 17.

His insurance had also been terminated for non-payment.

Defence advocate John Wright said that something had gone wrong with Forster’s direct debit, and he hadn’t noticed the insurance payments had stopped.

Magistrates also ordered the defendant to pay £50 prosecution costs, and he’ll pay at a rate of £50 per month.
