Liam Priestnal, aged 28, of Lheannag Park, Douglas, has denied an allegation of common assault.
The offence is alleged to have been committed on August 11, at Station Road in Port St Mary.
He was represented in court by advocate Paul Glover.
A pre-trial review will be held in summary court on April 27.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500 with a condition not to contact the complainant.
