A defendant today pleaded not guilty to five drug charges put to him in the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

Mark Roberts, of North Shore Road, Ramsey, stands accused of producing (importing) heroin and cocaine and the supply of heroin, cannabis and cannabis resin, the latter two being Class B substances.

Deemster Cook set the trial start date for September 11. It will be presided over by a panel deemster.

Mr Roberts has been released on conditional bail until his trial date.
