A former Keys candidate and Garff commissioner has been fined for failing to submit company income tax returns.

Nigel Anthony Dobson is managing director of D’s Leisure Ltd, which operated the Liverpool Arms in Baldrine until it closed last month. He and wife Marilyn, of Ballachrink Drive, Onchan, admitted two offences each at Douglas magistrates’ court of failing to file company income tax returns.

They were each fined £190 and ordered to pay £125 costs.

The Dobsons were among a number of companies and individuals fined for income tax offences. Mark Cleator, of Glen Road, Ballaugh, admitted failing to file company income tax returns and was fined £600 and ordered to pay £125 costs.

Damian Hawley, of Kingsway Developments, admitted four offences of failing to file company tax returns and was fined £600. Mr Hawley, of Second Avenue, Douglas, was fined £450 for three offences of failing to file personal income tax returns in time.
