A 38-year-old man from Liverpool has admitted importing heroin and cocaine to the island.
Matthew Henwood was arrested after three packages were intercepted at the Isle of Man Post Office sorting office.
They were found to contain 370 grams of heroin and 55 grams of cocaine.
Henwood, who lives in Nimrod Street, pleaded guilty to importing heroin and importing cocaine to the island, as well as attempting to import heroin to the island.
He was committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery for sentencing and will appear there on January 28.
Prosecuting advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court that two packages were intercepted at the sorting office in February 2020 and when opened found to contain 55.8 grams of cocaine and 127.2 grams of heroin.
Henwood was the sender of the packages.
In May 2020 a third package was intercepted at the sorting office and found to contain 242.8 grams of heroin.
The sender of this package was found to be Henwood’s partner.
Telephones were seized and messages found which confirmed that Henwood had arranged for the packages to be sent and money to be sent back to the UK.
On December 18 this year, Henwood was arrested in the UK and brought to the Isle of Man.
When interviewed he answered ’no comment’ to all questions.
Ms Cubbon submitted that the case was too serious for summary court sentencing.
Defence advocate David Reynolds agreed that sentencing should take place at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes declined summary court jurisdiction and committed Henwood to the higher court.
A probation report will be prepared before sentencing.
No bail application was made and he is remanded in custody.
