A 26-year-old man has admitted assaulting three women at the Outback nightclub.

Casey Andrew Townend hit one of them during a row, but also made contact with two of her friends.

He appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood recently, entering guilty pleas to three counts of common assault.

The incident occurred on January 26, in the Outback’s smoking area.

Townend of Park Road, Douglas, was said to have initially pushed one woman, then punched her in the face repeatedly, after she threw a bottle which smashed behind him.

Defence advocate Stephen Wood said that a basis of plea would be submitted.

Sentencing has been adjourned until September 30, while a probation report is prepared.

Bail continues.
