A visitor from Berkshire has been fined £700 for importing cannabis on the ferry.
Ryan Ralph Gale, of Ambassador, Bracknell, was told to pay the fine immediately, plus £125 costs, or face up to 50 days in prison.
Gale was arrested on May 11, while he was a passenger in a car disembarking the ferry from Liverpool.
A police dog indicated that there were drugs in a bum bag belonging to the defendant.
A search by officers found 13.5 grams of cannabis, valued by police at £263.
Defence advocate Paul Rodgers said that Gale, whose age was not given in court, used the drug to combat stress and anxiety, and the cannabis found had been for personal use only.
