A woman and man have appeared in court charged with offences relating to the regulated sector.
Joanna Margaret Thomas, aged 60, of Charles Street, Peel, is accused of eight counts of failure to disclose (regulated sector). She has entered a ’no plea’ response to the charges.
Brian Charles James Monk, whose age was not given in court, of Thornhill Park, Ramsey, has denied three counts of entering into an arrangement and one of failure to disclose (regulated sector).
The disclosure charges were said to relate to the Anti-Terrorism Crime Act and business in the regulated sector which failed to make disclosures to the Finance Intelligence Unit. Both were employees of Ocra at the time of the offences.
Advocate Jim Travers, representing Mr Monk, has challenged committal to the Court of General Gaol and that will be heard on March 14.
Ms Thomas’s advocate Darren Taubitz said he was satisfied his client’s case could be committed to the higher court. Bail was granted for both parties.
