Richard said: ’Andy and I reached Kirk Michael and decided to stop, both because of injury (myself-hamstring, Andy-heel), both very disappointed as we were progressing fairly well despite the very warm conditions. ’The total stood at approximately £350. We were hoping for about £600 which would have bought the new foul weather gear for a member of the crew. Vicky (Campbell, a crew member) was approached by an anonymous donor who said they would like to make it up to a full crew (seven) worth of kit and donated a massive £3,900. Therefore the total raised is £4,250, which is amazing.’
