Hundreds of people turned out to bask in the sun and listen to a day’s worth of music, set against the stunning backdrop of Groudle Glen.

More than 500 people made their way through the picturesque glen, onboard the small trains from the Groudle Glen Railway, to the Sealion Rocks tea rooms on Sunday afternoon, where they were serenaded with music from Shoh Slaynt, Truman Falls, Jeff Jepson and the Shenanigans Banned.

’It was a brilliant event and our most successful to date in the 10 years of hosting the cliff top concerts,’ said Groudle Glen Railway chairman Trevor Nall.

’We had thought the event wouldn’t go ahead this year with the lockdown. However once the railway was able to run again in July, Simon Rea from Truman Falls dropped us a line and asked if they could come and perform as it’s one of their favourite "venues" to perform at, on the top of a cliff in the open air.

’The railway wants to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support the event on Sunday and also to the groups and musicians themselves.’

The railway and tea rooms continue to operate with their free ’Family Trainspotting challenge’ on Sundays from 11am to 4:30pm until the end of September and Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.
