A chart-topping UK band are appear in a series of charity fund raising concerts held in Douglas later this year.
As part of the resurgent Deep South Festival, Space are to perform at Tower House, Castle Street, Douglas, on Friday, June 26.
The eclectic Liverpudlian rock and pop group, who released a succession of memorable singles in the latter half of the 90s, including ’Avenging Angels’, ’Female of the Species’, ’Me and You Versus the World’, ’Neighbourhood and ’The Ballad of Tom Jones’, are no strangers to the island.
They appeared at the long-gone Venue, on Douglas promenade during their 90s heyday and recently played two hugely popular concerts, one at the 2017 Deep South Festival and a year later in the Promenade Suite at the Villa Marina, with frontman Tommy Scott playing a solo concert at St Ninian’s Church in between.
The group will embark on their ’Music for Pleasure, Music for Pain Tour’ in February this year, which will be followed by an album of the same name, which comes out in May.
This is the second Deep South charity concert announced with the first, featuring Toploader, being unveiled last week, selling out in less than seven days.
The concerts are held to raise money and awareness for local mental health charities.
