Tyler Thomas Sebastian Fayle, aged 32, of Kinnish Terrace, Ballasalla, has been charged with drink-driving.
The offence is alleged to have been committed on April 26.
He was represented in court by duty advocate Casey Houareau who asked for an adjournment until June 1, saying that Mr Fayle wanted time to instruct advocate Paul Rodgers.
Bail continues in the sum of £500.
