Thomas James Hall, aged 30, of Peveril Street, Douglas, has had his court case adjourned until May 16.
He is charged with five counts of possessing indecent images of children, and three counts of theft.
The court heard that a report regarding his fitness to plead is being prepared.
He was not required to attend court.
Bail continues.
