Motorists have to pay to park in Douglas Council’s car parks again.

Over lockdown the authority allowed drivers to park in Shaw’s Brow and the Bottleneck car parks for free, to support key workers and essential retailers and encourage people to use their vehicles rather than public transport.

However, since Monday, April 12, tariffs have now been reintroduced coinciding with the ease of some Covid-19 restrictions.

The council apologised for not making the public aware of this move in advance.
