September saw mixed conditions, with unsettled weather through much of the month, countered by high pressure and drier conditions later.
The Met Office has been crunching its numbers for the month.
The mean daytime maximum temperature was 15.6°C, compared to the long term average of 16.3°C.
The best day was the 9th with 17.4°C achieved. That’s the lowest poorest peak since 1986.
Rainfall totalled 630mm in the gauge at Ronaldsway, which is about 20% below the long-term average for the month.
The wettest day was the 20th with 15mm.
Storm Ali on the 19th saw an early start to the autumn equinoctial gales, with a peak gust of 58 knots at Ronaldsway - the highest September gust on record. The mean speed for the whole month was 13 knots; about 2 knots above average.
Sunshine totalled 149 hours, which is close to the long term average. The best day was the 4th with 12.5 hours - the sunniest September day on record.
There was no hail or thunder, but there were three days with fog at Ronaldsway.
