The weather forecast from the Met Office:

Today will be bright with sunny spells and a few passing showers, which will move through fairly quickly on the fresh to strong westerly wind. Highest temperature only around 7°C, and feeling much colder in the wind.

The showers will become more frequent at times this evening and tonight, as they turn increasingly wintry over the hills. The strong westerly wind will turn to the northwest and become gale force overnight with minimum temperature generally near to 2°C, but close to freezing over the hills.

Any wintry showers at first tomorrow will soon die away, leaving much of the day dry with sunny intervals. The gale force northwest wind will quickly ease as the day goes on becoming light to moderate by evening with highs of 8°C. Turning cold overnight into Wednesday as the wind falls light, giving a risk of frost.

After a cold and frosty start to Wednesday, it will be dry but often cloudy with some brightness breaking through the cloud at times. The light breeze will settle to the west or southwest with a top temperature of 8°C.
