Over nine days running up to the inaugural Hospice Manx Community Marathon, Hospice Isle of Man’s youngest ambassador Dylan Walton, who has cerebral palsy, undertook his own marathon challenge walking more than 18 miles around the NSC in support of the event.

The final laps of Dylan’s endeavour were finished just before the main running event began, with Dylan being cheered over the finish line by his fellow runners and the Manx flag being waved by Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney.

The main event saw marathon legend Christian Varley heading a collection of runners including Hospice ambassador Jake Hodgson through the running route, with many continuing along the old Douglas to Peel railway to complete half and full marathon distances.
