World Book Day was celebrated at schools across the island on Thursday.
A range of characters were brought to life as youngsters swapped their school uniforms for everything from Harry Potter to Pocahontas.
They also made origami book worms.
At Ramsey Grammar School, students in years seven and eight (ages 11 to 13) created a World Book Day montage made from wooden books displaying their own jacket designs.
Teachers throughout the school got involved, sharing their favourite books on their classroom doors.
St Ninian’s Lower School students dressed as their favourite characters and held a best dressed competition.
Peel Clothworkers’ School was the venue for Peel Heritage Trust’s launch of a book of poetry by Manx poet Margaret Kermode, who was known as Cushag and lived betweem 1852 and 1937).
There was also paired reading and a parade of costumes.
Story telling also featured at Braddan School where the best costumes from each class were also judged in a special assembly.
