Sixth form students at Ramsey Grammar School have completed a training course with the Northern Live at Home Scheme

The students sign up to be student volunteer befrienders with the Northern Live at Home Scheme, and upon completion of a 10 week training programme go out and visit elderly members of the community in their own homes.

Students visit in pairs during term time and often continue visiting their member once they have left school.

The Intergenerational programme has been very successful, and Isle of Man Live at Home Schemes are now operating in all secondary schools on the island with the exception of Castle Rushen, which works with Southern Befrienders.
