Tia Welsh has graduated with a first class BA honours degree in creative writing from York St John University.

Daughter of Sue and Dick Welsh, of Port Erin, Tia, was educated at Rushen Primary and Castle Rushen High School.

The graduation ceremony was held at York Minster with the Archbishop of York and Chancellor of the University, John Sentamu presenting the awards.

She is currently a journalist intern at Manx Radio but wants to pursue her goal of becoming a script writer for film and TV and to be a published author.
