A fleet of about 40 classic vehicles made their way across the island to celebrate the start of 2020.
The Manx Classic Car Club held its New Year’s Day run once again for enthusiasts to kick start the year by doing something they love.
Approximately 80 members gathered at the TT Grandstand in Douglas on Wednesday for a ’gentle amble’ through the centre of the island.
Club secretary Michael Pearce, who drove his Bentley Turbo R, said: ’We meet together every month and on January 1 the run is something we do.
’I think it started in the 60s and is just a social get together for people who like classic cars. We all get on exceedingly well!
’This year we had a very interesting vehicle on the run - a pre-war Ford with German and very strong Isle of Man connections.
’The owner brought in a newspaper clipping about its [history].’
He added that the clues weren’t ’too taxing’ considering it was the day following a night of New Year celebrations.
