Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley, better known as Cain Dingle, is coming to the Isle of Man in May to offer his professional advice and support to young actors as part of their training with Parker and Snell Company.
Parker and Snell is an Isle of Man and UK-based production company which was set up by producer Carl Parker and artistic director Colin Snell. It offers acting classes for television, film and theatre for ages five to 17.
Jeff, who is said to be very much looking forward to making his first visit to the Isle of Man and working with some of the island’s up-and-coming talent, is himself a former student of Parker and Snell Company’s artistic director, Colin Snell.
Colin said: ’I have taught and worked with Jeff since he was an 11-year-old at school in Oldham. He was always heavily involved in our productions both in school and later outside.
’He had the opportunity of playing numerous roles including Danny Zukko in our production of Grease at the Coliseum Theatre in Oldham and Bernardo in West Side Story.
’Jeff trained as an actor at the Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre.’
Nowadays, Jeff is best known for his playing the recurrant role of Cain Dingle in the soap opera Emmerdale.
Although the bad boy of the village, people are drawn to him but his selfishness usually means that he disappoints those closest to him.
He is married to fellow actor Zoe Henry who stars alongside him in Emmerdale as veterinary surgeon Rhona Goskirk.
Later this year Parker and Snell Youth Company will represent the island at the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2017, performing ’The Edelweiss Pirates’ by Ayub Khan Din, at the Space On The Mile.
Acting coach Carl Parker said: ’It is a fantastic opportunity for children and teenagers on the Island to meet with industry professionals such as Jeff Hordley: his knowledge of the industry and professional advice will be invaluable.’
