Hundreds of people attended the Manx Potters’ Fair on Saturday.

Visitors were able to admire and purchase handmade ceramics from 19 artists, some of whom were selling for the first time.

Potters displayed their wares at the Villa Marina Arcade, and with help from friends, ran a refreshments area where visitors could make a donation for coffee and cake.

Each potter created a Christmas decoration for advent calendar style raffle prizes. First prize was won by Val Quirk.

Ceramicists taking part were Celine’s Ceramics, Faye Christian Ceramics, Helen Almond Ceramics, Natalie Norton, Kathryn Cain Design, Anna Clucas Fine Art, Susie Heckles Design, Croft Studio Potter, Felicity Wood Designs, Vici Blackburn, Carol Pooley, Gerry Lomax, Linda Quirk, Shareen Jewell, Colleen Corlett Design, Nicky Dycher, Natalie Wiseman, Tiny Kiln & Wonky Pots Studio, and Jackie van Toor.

Organisers thanked helpers for the refreshments and raffle: Mark Jewell, Linda Gilpin and Debs Mohyuddin.

And they thanked the John Nicholson Foundation for helping them to secure the venue.

The day raised £500 for Isle Listen from a raffle and refreshments.

It’s hoped the fair will be repeated next year. In the meantime, some of the potters will be exhibiting at will be at the Isle of Man Art Society Fair taking place at the Villa Marina Arcade on November 5, from 11am to 3pm.
