The popular charity fundraising Coast to Coast Walk is due to be held next weekend.
The event, in aid of Sight Matters, will start at the NSC and begin with a lap of the perimeter road before walkers make their way onto the Heritage Trail, finishing in front of the House of Manannan in Peel.
The event offers participants the opportunity to enjoy the island’s beautiful scenery while showing their support for the Island’s blind and visually impaired community.
The walk, which is approximately 12 miles long, will start at 1.30pm with check-in from midday at the NSC.
Check-in for the shorter three-mile route will open at 2.45pm at St John’s Primary School car park, with walkers expected to set off at 3.30pm.
Debbie Thomson, sight matters volunteer and community services lead, says the team is looking forward to another fantastic event.
She explained: ’The 2020 walk was a record-breaking year for us, with almost 600 participants taking part on the day and in excess of £8,000 raised for our charity.
’It will certainly be hard to beat, but I have no doubt we can make it happen with every penny raised going back to our charity and helping to support blind and visually impaired people in the island.
’The Heritage Trail is a beautiful walk which is reasonably flat and gentle, making it suitable for all ages, abilities and four-legged friends.’
