Entries for the Post-TT Road Race meeting at Billown this Saturday are well up on last year.
The event, sponsored by Radcliffe’s Butchers of Castletown, takes place during the afternoon and evening, with practising and qualifying between 1pm and 4pm prior to racing between 5pm and 8.30pm at the latest.
Please note that the roads round the 4.25-mile course will be open briefly between the practice and race periods.
Heading the list of riders is last year’s double winner, William Dunlop, who will be out to repeat his successes on his 600 IC/Caffrey Yamaha and 1000cc Temple Golf Club Yamahas.
But the popular Ballymoney man will not have it all his own way as Yorkshire rivals Jamie Coward and James Cowton will both be out to steal the limelight.
Coward will be wanting to make it a home victory for his Castletown-based Radcliffe Racing team, while Cowton would like to return his McAdoo Kawasaki Team to winning ways on the Billown Course, where they have achieved many race wins in the hands of Bob Jackson and more latterly with Ryan Farquhar in the saddle.
Also likely to be in the mix are Robert Wilson, David Lumsden, Glen Harrison, Mark Parrett, Davy Morgan, Jamie Williams and Mark Goodings.
Driffield man Cowton won the Supertwin race in 2016 and this year will have Michael Russell, Lumsden and Anthony Redmond to contend with.
The Manx Independent Carriers 1100cc feature race will be over eight laps and the main suspects will be Dunlop, Coward, Cowton, Russell, Goodings, Morgan, Redmond along with previous winner Ryan Kneen on the Charmer Builders BMW.
