A charity in the island is hosting a tree planting session today (Thursday).

Manx Wildlife Trust, a conservation charity caring for land, sea and fresh water environments, is appealing to the public for help.

‘We’re in Ballaugh helping to create a new hedgerow and have 500 trees to plant,’ it said.

Hedgerows are vital for wildlife, providing food, shelter and nesting habitat.

‘We’re really excited to be creating a new one, but could do with a couple of extra hands.’

Anyone interested in being part of Team Wilder and who wants to join the charity for the session should email [email protected]

Tools, cake and tea will be provided.
