A six-year-old who tried to repair a pothole by his home with his Lego construction team has had a response from the company’s headquarters in Denmark.

In February we reported how Tjade Clarke from Peel had decided to take to the streets in an effort to fix the sunset city’s potholes using his Lego construction workers.

After our article, his mum Sarah sent a copy and pictures of his work to the company’s headquarters in Denmark and they wrote back.

In a letter addressed to Sarah, the company said: ’We are so happy to hear about your son, our young Lego fan.

’It sounds like he is a clever and creative boy and we really liked that Lego staff were used to fix a pothole.’

When the original article appeared on social media as part of our ’Pothole of the Week’ series, it was liked more than 130 times and shared 30 times.

Sarah said: ’A lot of people saw it, I went to see the clerk of Peel Commissioners and he was asking me about it.

’I didn’t expect a response when we sent it off but it was really sweet of them to personalise the letter and even offer him a job!’ As well as the letter, Lego sent him a small gift and a card signed by members of the Lego Group of America.

Sarah added: ’He took his letter into school at Peel Clothworkers and was given the head teacher’s award.

’Tjade is really made up and just loves Lego. He has plenty of Lego and model kits to build, we even have Lego Christmas decorations.’

Despite Tjade’s and the Department of Lego Infrastructure’s best efforts, the pothole just off Battery Road remains unrepaired. But for the island’s biggest Lego fan, everything is awesome.
