Ramsey Park Hotel expansion, which will see it double in size is making steady progress.
The hotel opened in Park Road, Ramsey, with 30 rooms five and a half years ago and has proved popular, leading to the large extension including an extra 30 rooms and a function room which can hold up to 250 people.
Richard Grime, managing director of the Classic Lodges chain of hotels, said the development was statement of intent and a massive investment in the business, economy and community of Ramsey.
’We are thrilled that Ramsey Park has been such a tremendous success,’ he said.
’The Isle of Man has proven to be an incredibly popular destination over the last few years, especially with the growth of the staycation.
’This development will enable the hotel to hold more weddings and become an even more integral part of the community.
’We are full to capacity on many occasions throughout the year, so doubling the number of rooms will help us to accommodate even more visitors to the island.’
Hotel manager James O’Neill said the hotel was already taking bookings for next year’s TT which starts on May 25, 2019.
He added: ’The hotel will have 60 bedrooms consisting of 39 Deluxe Sea View rooms and 15 Deluxe Lake View rooms and six executive family suites that are M3i Rated, the only hotel on Isle of Man to be rated at this level, all of this will be ready for next year’s TT.’
The M3i rating relates to accessibility for a person who depends on the use of a wheelchair and transfers unaided to and from the wheelchair.
The expansion means the hotel could take on five new permanent staff and up to 12 part-time staff for functions. It will be a separate structure to the current building and joined by a glass corridor.
