The Home of Rest for Old Horses on Richmond Hill never fails to provide one of the most spectacular Christmas lights displays in the island.

They turned on their 2019 display on Thursday and it didn’t disppoint.

Every inch of the premises is covered with lights and decorations with fun games like Hook a Duck in the stables and lots of prizes.

Children can write their letter to Santa in the post room and post it afterwards in the special letterbox.

They can also visit Santa in a very special grotto where two of the donkeys, White Jack and Fluer, are also there to greet you.

And, to warm you up the cafe will be serving sandwiches and toasties, sausage baps, cakes and sweet potato soup.

The gift shop will be open with lots of gifts for the children and they will be holding a raffle to win a Christmas cake.

There is entertainment, too, with Rebecca Forrest singing tonight (Tuesday) and on Thursday; Barclays Bank Choir performing tomorrow night; the Kippercaillie Band on Friday; John Banning on Saturday; Shoddy Waddy on Sunday and David Castro on Monday.

The lighting display will be open to the public until Monday (December 23). The opening hours are: weekdays from 4pm to 8pm and next weekend from 10am to 4pm.

The home will then be closed until May. It will reopen on May 10 and stay open, Sunday to Friday, until September 11. See the Isle of Man Home of Rest for Old Horses Facebook page.
