One of the island’s biggest charity events of the year, Fashion for Life, takes place next month at the Villa Marina.

First held back in 2005, the charity fashion show has raised more than £90,000 to help support those affected by breast cancer.

Charities Isle of Man Breast Care and Breast Cancer Now Volunteering in the Isle of Man have teamed up again this year as they try and make Friday, October 22’s show more successful than 2019’s, which raised £22,445.

Telecoms operator Elite Group IoM is the main sponsor donating £7,500 in support of groups Isle of Man Breast Care and Breast Cancer Now Volunteering in the Isle of Man.

The event is also partnering with Vino and Shoprite, as well as M&S, to help ensure the event makes a spectacular come back.

Elite Group managing director Tim Cass said of the sponsorship: ’We are delighted to sponsor Fashion for Life again, it’s a fabulous event and I urge anyone to go along and enjoy the event this year.

’Apart from having a great time, the money raised goes to two charities that continue to make a huge difference to those affected by breast cancer.’

thrilled

Sharon Maddrell of Isle of Man Breast Care said: ’I’m thrilled and very grateful to Elite Group IoM for its continued generous sponsorship of Fashion for Life.

Fundraising has been very difficult for all charities these last two years, so this means so much to us.’

Angie Aire from Breast Cancer Now Volunteering in the Isle of Man added: ’It’s wonderful to be back on the catwalk again with our charity buddies Isle of Man Breast Care and fabulously supported by our friends at Elite Group.’

Isle of Man Breast Care is a charity and support group set up by local women who have all experienced breast cancer themselves.

They offer emotional, practical and financial support to patients and their families.

Breast Cancer Now Volunteering in the Isle of Man aims to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Its aim is that by 2025, everybody who develops the disease will survive.

Tickets for the show are available on the Villa Marina website.
