Fashion for Life, one of the biggest charity events in the island’s calendar, returns to the Villa Marina’s Royal Hall in October.
The fashion show and cabaret event featuring models who have all experienced breast cancer takes place every two years.
For this year’s event on Friday, October 27, Isle of Man Breast Care will be joined by another breast cancer charity, the island’s branch of Breast Cancer NOW in a bid to make the show bigger and better than ever.
As ever, the irrepressible duo that is Dot Tilbury and Geoff Corkish will return to compere the show, complete with their usual outrageous costumes and comical antics on the stage.
The theme of the event is The Swinging Sixties and there will be live music to bring this to life.
Guests are also welcome to embrace the theme by wearing a 60s outfit if they wish.
The fabulous fashions of the catwalk will be supplied once again by M&S with a range of outdoor, day, evening, night and lounge and lingerie wear, as well as a special catwalk of fashions that for now is being kept under wraps.
The charities thanked their main sponsor, Wi-Manx as well as Shoprite and Ascot International for their support.
A launch event will take place in Douglas town centre on Saturday, August 26.
The last Fashion For Life, held in 2015, was the event’s 10th anniversary show.
It raised £18,278, bringing the total amount of money that the event has raised since its inception in 2005 up to more than £78,000.
Isle of Man Breast Care is a breast cancer support group for breast cancer patients and their families. The support it provides includes holding monthly meetings, attending appointments with patients as well as financial support.
The island branch of Breast Cancer NOW campaigns for services in the Isle of Man, raises funds for research into the disease, and raises awareness of it. Their aim is that by 2050, everyone who develops the disease will live.
