Castletown was the venue for Year of Our Island closing celebrations on Saturday.
The Festival of Light saw Castle Rushen and the town square lit up and a special illuminated trail of Balley Cashtal Beg’s enchanting fairy doors.
During the day, families took part in workshops at Castletown Civic Centre to make willow and cloud lanterns and stained glass windows.
These were later put on display.
Food was on offer in the square from the Train Smokers and MexiMann.
Castletown Commissioners thanked the Year of Our Island team for bringing celebrations to the town, saying: ’You came to Castletown and you have made so many people happy with your display.’
This weekend, the celebrations move to Mooragh Park, Ramsey.
A Festival of Light takes place in the park on Saturday from 5pm to 8pm.
There will be light installations, workshops, a lantern display, food and entertainment.
