The fifth annual Paint the Plantation Pink will take place in mid May.

On Saturday, May 15 between 10am to 4pm, women mountainbikers will complete as many laps of the 4km course as they want at South Barrule Plantation, near Foxdale.

Entrants must pay a fee to take part which includes a minimum sponsorship amount, but they can raise more money once registered by filling out a form provided by email.

Money raised will be split between Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, Breast Cancer NOW, Ovarian Cancer Advice and Manx Breast Cancer Support Group.

Event organiser Mel Dowling said: ’It is meant to be a flexible event to accommodate women’s busy lives and for them to fit in when they can cycle, rather being a set start time.

’It is also an event for women of all fitness levels and ability, and we encourage anyone who owns a mountain bike to get involved including girls from the age of eight.’

This year the event will include several prize categories including the Nikki Bregazzi Memorial Mother & Daughter Trophy. There will also be an E bike category.
