To help mark the anniversaries, Bridge Bookshop has arranged for Jo Pack to interview Carl Fogarty MBE in a free event on the main stage at Bushy’s TT Village next Thursday (June 7) at 5 pm. He will talk about his racing career, bikes and his new book, The World According to Foggy. After the interview there will be an opportunity to buy the book and have it signed by the man himself.
Carl Fogarty MBE is the seven-times world champion and Superbike racing legend. He won 59 races in 12 seasons and also enjoyed huge success in the Isle of Man TT, breaking the lap record at 18 minutes, 18.8 seconds (123.61 mph) on a Yamaha 750cc. He was the winner of the 1985 Lightweight Newcomers Manx Grand Prix and went on to win three TT races.
His new book takes his fans into the memory banks of this straight-talking sporting icon, transporting them into the weird and wonderful world of this endearingly quirky hero of the track. It contains plenty of adrenaline-fuelled bikes, thrills and spills galore, but it also reveals the man behind the helmet, his passions and frustrations, what makes him still leap out of bed in the morning and seize the day - ultimately, what makes this great man tick and explains his enduring popularity.
Harry Pickard, owner of Bridge Bookshop, said: ’We are delighted to be hosting this event with a true bike racing great.
’Don’t miss this chance to meet the man himself.’
