A popular English folk group are to head to the island next year for a concert.

The Edgelarks are set to appear at the Laxey Institute on Saturday, March 14.

The group feature guitarist slide guitarist and harmonica player Phillip Henry and singer and multi-instrumentalist Hannah Martin and perform music influenced in equal parts by British traditional music, Indian classical music and songs from southern Americana.

Before rechristening themselves the Edgelarks, they were awarded the award for best duo during the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and over the course of their career have released seven albums, with the latest being 2019’s ’Feathers’.
