On May 24 we released wonderful wallabies into the wild across the island and what a response they’ve had so far.

In less than a week we have distributed over 6,000 maps, had nearly 10,000 code unlocks via the app and have even seen our first trail finishers.

The Wallabies Gone Wild team have spent the last week in our shops meeting trail participants and answering any questions about the trail.

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions:

Where can I pick up a map?

Free trail maps are available from all of our Hospice Shops, including Strand Street, Bucks Road, Peel, Onchan, Ramsey, Port Erin, Castletown and the Warehouse. They are also available from Hospice reception, the Sea Terminal Welcome Centre, Ramsey Town Hall, the Wildlife Park, Peel Swimming Pool, the Empress Hotel, Riley’s Garden Centre and from other locations around the island.

How do I download the app?

Download the app from the App Store, Google Play, or, from today, via Amazon. We are aware there have been some problems with android users downloading via Google Play and have been assured by our app developers that downloading via Amazon will provide a suitable alternative.

How do I claim app rewards?

As you unlock the wallabies be sure to visit the ’Rewards’ section of the app to see what rewards you have earned, click on the highlighted rewards to find out more. The rewards include discounts, competitions and other surprises.

Does the money from the app go to Hospice?

Thanks to our generous app sponsors, Tevir Group, who funded the cost of building the app, all income from the app will come to Hospice. This is after Apple, Google and Amazon have deducted their hosting fees.

How do I own my own piece of the trail?

Pop in to one of our Hospice shops to purchase some of our fabulous merchandise as a trail memento, or join us at our auction on September 26 to bid on our large sculptures that will be sold to raise funds for Hospice.

What will happen to the small wallabies when the trail is finished?

The small wallabies have each been fundraised and designed by local schools and community groups. These ’wallababies’ will be returned once the trail is finished in September.
