Proposals to create a tourist hostel in Murray’s Road, Douglas, have been lodged with government planners.
Nelly Christian, of Woodbourne Road, is seeking to turn number 38 Murray’s Road, currently classed as flats and housing of multiple occupancy, into a hostel with accommodation for 43 beds in 11 bedrooms - eight of which would be en suite (17/00687/B).
She says there would be a no-cars rule for anyone staying in the hostel.
There would be a communal area, kitchen and dining room on the ground floor, along with a store for bicycles, and a children’s play area outside, along with parking for up to seven motorbikes.
The scheme has the support of Douglas Council’s environmental services committee.
